Refund policy

FeedOne Foundation

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Refund and Cancellation Policy ("Policy") explains how refunds, cancellations, and fulfilment work for donations made through the website feedonefoundation.com and the associated donation store hosted on Shopify (collectively, the "Site"), operated by FeedOne Foundation ("FeedOne", "we", "us", or "our").

This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.

1. What Your Donation Funds

FeedOne is a charitable organisation. Contributions made through the Site are donations that fund our charitable activities — for example, meals, medicines, mobility aids, and educational supplies for people in need.

We do not sell, ship, or deliver any physical product to donors, and there is no shipping policy and no return of goods. References on the Site to "returns" or a "return policy" (including any default Shopify wording) should be read as referring to this Policy.

Some donations include a fulfilment element that we carry out on your behalf:

  • Sponsored activities / occasions — certain donations (for example, Occasion at Slum Classes, Food for All, or Grand Party — Food + Cake for All) fund an activity that we carry out on a date or occasion you choose, such as distributing meals to mark a birthday.
  • Reel add-on — an optional paid add-on under which we film and deliver a short personalised edited reel of the sponsored activity.

These fulfilment elements are addressed in Sections 4 and 5.

2. Donations Are Generally Non-Refundable

Donations are voluntary, and we apply funds promptly to our charitable work. Once funds have been applied — or once a sponsored activity has been carried out — the donation is non-refundable and irrevocable.

We may still return a donation, or part of it, at our discretion in the limited circumstances in Section 3, and we will provide a remedy where we fail to deliver a fulfilment element you paid for (Sections 4 and 5). This is consistent with fair-dealing expectations under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and our payment processor's requirements.

3. When We May Refund a Donation

We will consider a refund in the following situations:

  • Genuine error — for example, an incorrect amount entered, or a duplicate donation made in quick succession.
  • Unauthorised transaction — for example, a donation made using a lost, stolen, or otherwise unauthorised payment method.
  • Accidental recurring donation — a recurring donation set up in error (see Section 7).
  • Failed or mistaken charge — money deducted but the donation did not complete (see Section 8).
  • Fulfilment not delivered — we are unable to carry out a sponsored activity, or to deliver a paid reel add-on, within a reasonable time (see Sections 4 and 5).

We may decline a request that falls outside these circumstances, or where we reasonably suspect misuse of this Policy.

4. Sponsored Activities and Occasions

For donations tied to an activity on a chosen date or occasion:

  • Before the activity is carried out — you may reschedule or cancel by emailing us at contact@feedonefoundation.com at least 3 (three) days before the scheduled date. On cancellation before fulfilment, you may choose a refund or to redirect the donation to our general fund.
  • After the activity is carried out — the donation is non-refundable, as the funds have been applied to feed or support the intended beneficiaries.
  • If we cannot carry it out — where we are unable to perform the activity within a reasonable time (for reasons attributable to us), we may offer you a choice of: rescheduling, redirecting the donation to another cause, or a refund of the affected amount.

We may need to make reasonable operational adjustments (for example, the exact beneficiaries, location, or menu) to suit on-ground conditions. These adjustments do not change the charitable nature of the donation and are not grounds for a refund, provided the broad purpose you sponsored is fulfilled.

5. Reel Add-On

The reel add-on is an optional paid service. If you select it:

  • We aim to deliver your personalised edited reel within [21] days after the sponsored activity is carried out.
  • If we are unable to deliver the reel within a reasonable time for reasons attributable to us, you may request a refund of the reel add-on fee.
  • Because filming depends on the underlying activity taking place, the reel add-on can only be fulfilled if the related sponsored activity is fulfilled. If that activity is cancelled or refunded before it happens, the reel add-on fee might be refunded with it.
  • Once the reel has been delivered to you, the add-on fee is non-refundable.

The reel add-on fee is a payment for a service and may not be eligible for an 80G deduction; see Section 11.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us at contact@feedonefoundation.com within 7 (seven) days of the relevant transaction (or, for an undelivered reel or activity, within 7 days of the expected delivery/activity date).

Please include:

  • the donor's name and registered email/phone;
  • the donation date and amount; and
  • the Razorpay payment reference or order number, if available.

The 7-day limit does not apply to refund requests arising from fraud or unauthorised use of a payment method; those may be raised at any time. We may ask you to verify your identity and provide supporting details before processing any refund.

7. Cancelling a Recurring Donation

If you set up a recurring (for example, monthly) donation, you may cancel it at any time so that no further charges are made. To cancel, email contact@feedonefoundation.com with your donor details, or use any cancellation option made available in your account.

Cancellation stops future charges. Donations already collected before cancellation are treated under Sections 2 and 3.

8. Failed, Duplicate, or Incomplete Transactions

If money is deducted but the donation fails or does not complete, the amount is normally reversed automatically by your bank or card issuer, typically within 5–7 business days. If you do not see the reversal within this period, contact us at contact@feedonefoundation.com (or contact Razorpay, our payment processor) with your transaction details and we will help resolve it.

9. How and When Approved Refunds Are Paid

  • Approved refunds are made to the original payment method used for the donation. We cannot redirect a refund to a different account or instrument.
  • Refunds are processed through our payment processor, Razorpay. Once we initiate a refund, Razorpay typically processes it within 7–10 working days; the time for it to appear in your account then depends on your bank or card issuer.
  • The approved amount is refunded in full. We do not deduct any charge from your refund; however, third-party payment-gateway fees or taxes applied at the time of the original transaction may not always be recoverable, and any such non-recoverable amount will be communicated to you before the refund is finalised.

10. Foreign Contributions

The Site accepts donations only from donors in India and from Indian sources. FeedOne is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA) and does not accept foreign contributions. If we identify a donation that appears to be a foreign contribution, we may decline or refund it and will not process or retain it. Such a refund is made under this Policy and is not subject to the 7-day limit in Section 6.

11. Effect of a Refund — and Add-Ons — on Your 80G Tax Receipt

80G eligibility of add-ons and benefits. A deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 is available only for a voluntary donation made without consideration (without anything of value received in return). Amounts paid for a benefit or service — including the reel add-on fee — may not qualify for 80G. Where we issue an 80G receipt, it may cover only the eligible donation amount and exclude any such add-on or benefit portion.

If a donation that received an 80G receipt is refunded:

  • you will no longer be entitled to claim a Section 80G deduction for that amount;
  • we may be required to adjust, withdraw, or re-issue the corresponding receipt, and to revise the donation statement (Form 10BD) and donor certificate (Form 10BE) filed with the Income Tax Department; and
  • you are responsible for any tax consequences of the refund, including correcting your own income-tax filings where a deduction was already claimed.

Please factor this in before requesting a refund of a donation for which you have received an 80G receipt.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
